We usually respond within two weeks
About the role
As a Senior Data Engineer at Scoro, you'll build and maintain the data foundations that power both our product features and internal decision-making. You'll work hands-on across data pipelines, transformation layers, and analytics infrastructure, collaborating with engineering, product, and business teams to ensure data is reliable, well-modelled, and accessible.
The role combines strong technical execution with a product mindset. Your work directly shapes customer-facing features such as reporting, availability calculations, and user insights, as well as the internal data products the organisation relies on every day.
At the Senior level, you'll also take on technical leadership within the data function, driving architectural decisions, mentoring other engineers to help them grow, and defining the standards and practices the team follows.
The Senior Data Engineer reports to the Head of Platform Engineering and works closely with engineering, product, and business teams.

What you'll do
Design, build, and maintain reliable, scalable data pipelines and data models that power product features, analytics, and internal decision-making with clear ownership over quality, consistency, and reliability.
Contribute to the secure handling of customer personal data and compliance with applicable data protection regulations throughout its lifecycle.
Help establish and follow best practices for data governance, documentation, and data access.
Continuously improve the company's data tooling, architecture, and processes, proposing and implementing changes where they add value.
Collaborate with product engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into well-designed data solutions.
Lead the design of significant components of the data platform, making architectural decisions that balance short-term delivery with long-term scalability.
Set technical direction for data modelling, pipeline design, and tooling choices within your area of ownership.
You'd be a great fit if you have
Solid experience building and operating production data pipelines (ETL or ELT) and transformation layers using tools like dbt, Airflow, Dagster, or similar.
Strong SQL skills and a good command of at least one general-purpose language used in data engineering (e.g. Python).
Experience with cloud data warehouses or lakehouses (e.g. Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks) and an understanding of how to model data for both analytics and product use cases.
Understanding of data modelling techniques (dimensional modelling, normalised models, event-based models) and when to apply them.
A track record of making sound architectural decisions and delivering larger data initiatives end-to-end.
Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction beyond your immediate tasks.
Comfort operating with a high degree of autonomy, shaping ambiguous problems into clear plans, and collaborating effectively within and across teams.
Awareness of data protection and security considerations when working with customer data.
